Reminder from SCCPTA Reflections Chair to Local Unit Chairs:
Local Unit PTA Reflections Chairs,
Please contact your student winners and student honorable mentions and their parents to inform them of the results. Ask if parents have received their Punch Bowl invitation to the 2017-18 PTA Reflections Awards Celebration and Vendor Event on March 14th.
If they have not received the invitation; please forward your copy to them and contact me with their email so we can update our email records.
Thank you and congratulations to all the students, volunteers and teachers who came together to make this program a success.
SCCPTA Reflections Chair 2017-18
SCCPTA is offering training for the 2017-18 National PTA Reflections Program on Monday, August 7th at Winter Springs High School. Details are on the attached flyer.
Reflections is an arts program offering creative students recognition in a variety of categories at the school, county, state, and national levels. If your school has not participated in Reflections, come learn about this opportunity. Remember: Your PTA must engage in three programs for ever fundraiser. Let Reflections be one of your programs this year!
If your school's art teacher helps with Reflections, please encourage them to attend.
The Results Are In For National PTA Reflections Awards! Congratulations to these Seminole County students who are National Award of Excellence and Award of Merit winners in the National PTA Reflections Program!
These students will be celebrated along with other winners at a red carpet event at National PTA Leadership Convention June 24 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, NV where their artwork will be on display. Award of Excellence winners also receive a $200 Young Artist Scholarship, Silver Medal and certificate. Award of Merit winners receive a Bronze Medal and certificate.
We are proud of these creative students and all those who participated in the PTA Reflections program this year!
Students across Seminole County have enjoyed another year of participation in the National PTA Reflections Program. Students created visual arts, photography, literature, music, film production and dance choreography inspired by this year’s theme, “What’s Your Story?”. Thirty-five schools supported the Reflections program this year with over 350 winning entries advancing to SCCPTA for county level judging. Three Seminole County level winners in each arts area and level represented will advance to the state level of competition with Florida PTA.
Congratulations to the many talented and creative students who participated in the program this year and thank you to the many PTA/PTSA Reflections Chairs, committees, parents and teachers, our SCCPTA Reflections team, and the many volunteer judges at all levels who dedicated many hours to supporting the program. The County Winners and Honorable Mention Winners will receive their award ribbons and be honored at the SCCPTA Reflections Awards Ceremony and Vendor Event on Wednesday, March 1 at 7pm at Winter Springs High School. Non winners who advanced to compete at the county level will receive a SCCPTA Reflections Participation Ribbon later this spring.
Plan to attend the SCCPTA Reflections Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 1 at Winter Springs High School. The event begins with a Vendor event, Food Trucks, Cookie Reception and Art Exhibit at 5pm, and the Awards Ceremony begins at 7 pm. It is always a special event and we look forward to celebrating with you all!
Congratulations again and good luck to the Seminole County Council PTA level winners in each arts area and level who advance to the state level of competition with Florida PTA. They will be competing with other county winners from across the state for the Florida PTA Reflections awards. The Florida PTA Reflections winners will be announced in March and will be celebrated at the Florida PTA Reflections Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 22 in Pinellas County. Watch for more information!
Thank you again for your support of the PTA Reflections Program and all that you do in support of PTA at your schools!
