ABOUT ME Michelle is a single mother of an 11 year old and works full time as a Senior Technology Manager. Michelle says: I like the quote from Brene Brown: 'Unused creativity isn't benign. It lives within us until it is expressed, neglected to death, or suffocated by resentment and fear.' Children are naturally creative and providing them an avenue to create and be recognized is necessary and wonderful. |
ABOUT ME I am a Mom of three amazing boys-Dr. Brax-16 LBHS; Dr. Bray-13 Teague Middle; Dr. Bry-5 Bear Lake, and wife to Mr. Bryan Fleming-Retired Air Force / Director of Recruitment Operations. I currently serve as PTSA President for Teague Middle School for the 2nd Term, Chairman of the Code Enforcement Board for the City of Altamonte Springs, Redistricting Chairman for the City of Altamonte Springs, Workforce Educator-Higher Education for the last 20+ years, Online Curriculum Developer for 15+ years, Parks and Preservation Committee Member for Seminole County, Business Owner-R3 Solutions, LLC-Training & Development. I enjoy volunteering in the community where we live. I believe in positive affirmations which is why I have called my son's doctors since birth. I believe education is the way to a bright future. |
ABOUT ME
Katie Murphy is a retired SCPS teacher. she has two adult daughters attended SCPS K-12 and graduated from Seminole High School. Katie was Vice-Chair of the FLPTA Resolutions Committee 2022-2024, Legislation Committee 2021-2022 and has been a PTA member in Seminole County since 1980, advocating for All Children. She is actively involved in Creating a Resilient Community Network. I am looking forward to all PTAs offering training in Resilience, based on PACES: Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences. |
ABOUT ME
Amy is mom to two middle school boys who love swim team, scouts and the piano. She has volunteered in elementary and middle school PTAs including serving as Media Chair and President. She works as an HR Administrator and substitute teaches within our SCPS schools. Amy is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with MBA from Rollins College and BA in Advertising & PR from UCF. I joined PTA to help others and make a positive difference in my community. |
ABOUT ME
Dr. Coleman started her 25 year journey with SCPS in 1995 as a Drop-Out prevention teacher at Lake Brantley High. In 1999, she continued her career at Millennium Middle as an 8th grade Comprehensive Science teacher, and ultimately became the Pre-IB Guidance Counselor/Magnet Liaison. She began her administrative career in 2005 at Greenwood Lakes Middle. Mia was named as SCPS Assistant Principal of the Year in 2008 and SCPS Principal of the year in 2016. Dr. Coleman holds a B.S. in Microbiology from University of Florida, a M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from University of Central Florida and an Ed.D. from University of Central Florida, in Educational Leadership. She has a beautiful daughter, Carmia-Syleste, who attends UCF and works at Rock Lake Middle. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, enjoying the beach and scrapbooking. |
ABOUT ME
Mr. Gaffney started his career in education in 1995 as a PE teacher at Pine Crest Elementary where he remained until 2002. He became an Assistant Principal at Bear Lake Elementary from 2002-2004 then transitioned to Assistant Principal at Hamilton Elementary from 2004-2005. He became the Principal at Hamilton Elementary in 2005 and remained there until 2008. Following Hamilton Elementary, Mr. Gaffney was the Principal at Keeth Elementary from 2009-2016. In 2017, Mr. Gaffney became the Principal of Winter Springs High School after a very long tenure in elementary. Mr. Gaffney is married with have two children, both attending school in Seminole County. |
ABOUT ME
Michelle started her career in education in 1992 as a government and economics teacher at Lyman High School. She became an assistant principal at Lyman High School in 1997, principal at Rock Lake Middle School in 2002 and at Milwee Middle School in 2008. In 2014, Michelle was appointed to her current position, Executive Director of Student Support Services. Michelle and her husband have two children, both products of Seminole County Public Schools, and two grandchildren. |
