About the Seminole County Council PTA Scholarships for High School Seniors
Each year SCCPTA awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors. These scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic performance. Scholarships are awarded to students attending the following Florida schools:
Eligibility- To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, an applicant must:
- A Four-year College or University (public or private
- A Two-year State, Junior, or Community College
- A Vocational/Technical School
Eligibility- To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a graduating senior of a Seminole County Public high school.
- Be a current resident of Seminole County.
- Be a member of your school PTSA (include copy of PTSA Card from MemberHub).
- Meet GPA requirements of 2.0 unweighted.
- Enroll as a full-time student for the upcoming school years (include proof of college acceptance or processing).
- Show financial need. Since tax returns are no longer required, financial need should be expressed in detail under “Special Family Circumstances” and/or in your essay.
Meet the 2025 SCCPTA Scholarship Participants
Nathan Capp graduated from Oviedo High School with a unweighted GPA of 3.9. He was a member of the Oviedo High School Varsity Soccer and Volleyball teams, Student Government, Biotechnology Club President and a member of National Honor Society and Beta Club for all 4 years during high school. Nathan’s volunteer activities included Seminole County Animal Services, Advent Health emergency room, and various Oviedo community events. He is attending Florida State University in the fall to study Nursing.

Julia Clements graduated from Winter Springs High School with a unweighted GPA of 3.4. She was a member of the Winter Springs Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, WSHS Bowling Team, Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, and All-County Band. Julia’s volunteer activities included Central Florida Arts Big Band, Indian Trails Middle School Band Volunteer and Seminole County Public Schools Band Camp. She is attending University of Alabama in the fall to study Music Therapy.

Colin Gibbons graduated from Oviedo High School with a unweighted GPA of 4.0. He was a member of the Water Polo and Swim Team, Student Government Association Vice President, Inter-Club Council Founder and Co-Chair, Oviedo Lion, Beta Club and Engineering club. Rose’s volunteer activities included representing over 11,000 constituent athletes within the LSC, USA Swimming National Official Committee Student Representative, Scouting America Eagle Scout, Order of the Eagle Honor Society, and Tipisa Lodge Induction Chair. He is attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall to study Engineering.

Rose James graduated from Oviedo High School with a unweighted GPA of 3.5. She was a member of the Oviedo High School Varsity Tennis and Varsity Sideline and Competition Cheer Team. Rose’s volunteer activities included Towels for Tails in support of pet shelters, Tennis Tournament volunteer, All Saints Episcopal Church and participating in Private Violin Instruction. She is attending the University of Tampa in the fall to study Marketing Communication & Public Relations.

George Kinastris graduated from Oviedo High School with a unweighted GPA of 3.8. He was an officer in Student Government, PTSA Student Representative and leadership roles in various clubs including National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, English Honor Society, Beta Club, Engineering Club and Spanish Club. George’s volunteer activities included the Oviedo Youth Advisory Council, Global Peace Ambassador for NVEEE-National Voices for Equality, Education & Enlightenment, St. Jude’s Leadership Society, and Seminole County Teen Court. He is attending University of Georgia in the fall to study Business Management.
